College Football

Last night the Buckeyes finished off the season with a respectable win over Oklahoma State. Thus ends the strangest season that I've ever witnessed. If you are not a Buckeyes fan, then chances are good that you hate the Buckeyes. They have taken the notorious role that Miami (FL) and Florida State had in the 80's. I hated those schools then for the things that they did and I can understand all the outside hostility towards the Ohio State program.

As a big fan it is frustrating to see this happen to the program. No matter who you are, if you are at all familiar with Ohio State, it is difficult to see Jim Tressel as anything but a real genuine and diplomatic figure for the college sport. How could someone like that allow the things going on to happen? It almost makes me wonder if some of this stuff is left over from John Cooper. I always like Coop, but I know that he had some problems with the general atmosphere of the program and what may have gone on behind closed doors.

I guess all I can do is to plead with everyone. Don't be a Buckeye hater. We have one of the best fan bases in the country and one o the greatest traditions in the country. They'll get this worked out. I think the guys on ESPN are full of it when they say that Tressel will have to be fired. He is too highly repsected by the oft-referred to "Buckeye nation." If he is as crooked as some think, he's got more people fooled than that guy from Catch me if you Can.

Father, forgive the Buckeyes, for they know now what they do. Next year the Buckeyes have a real good shot at the national title. I hope that these things don't linger around over the summer and interfere with next year's team. Here's to a fine season considering we lost like half an NFL team. Peace out.
