This past weekend we took the 1st - 5th graders to a jr. youth rally in Marion. This begins the hectic month of May. This Friday we're off to Defiance for Abbey's wedding shower, and now for my great aunt's funeral. She was a good, fun lady who we'll all miss. Next Friday me and my grandpa will be taking Andy to New York City to send him off on his cruise for the next two months. Portugual, Turkey . . . I'm jealous. We're only staying one night (that's what 200 bucks and night and 25 bucks to park overnight will do to a trip. The next Thursday we're heading down to Nashville for a wedding that Mary Beth is helping with. We have to be back that Saturday night because Sunday is senior day and our senior banquet is that night. Oh so fun. Needless to say, things will be a little hectic for the next few weeks. We are fotunate to have so many friends and family to see and visit and all the opportunities that we have. Much a blessing.
As for my reading, I'll post tomorrow about Kary Oberbrunner's Journey Toward Relevance. I'm about half way through it and I have found it helpful as I continue on my journey in the discussion of relevance and faith. He has a very interesting discussion of Separatists vs. Conformists, which he feels are both imbalances in the attempt towards Transformists which he thinks we should all strive to be. If you haven't stumbled upon the Relevant Media Group, you really should check them out (especially if you are a 20 something, which is thier target.) They are doing something that I have not seen anywhere else. It is a neat idea and has been really helpful to me.
